About Understanding Muscles and Movement
Understanding Muscles and Movement explains in easy-to-understand terms how the whole body moves together as an integrated system of muscles, tendons, bones, ligaments, and fascia; information essential for understanding the causes of problematic and limiting musculoskeletal imbalances. You will also learn the unique approach of The BioMechanics Method in regard to understanding how gravity and ground reaction forces change the way the body moves – knowledge that is imperative for designing successful corrective exercise strategies.

This is the second course I have taken from The Biomechanics Method and I love it. The courses are a great resource for review of anatomy and functional movement. There is video content and an anatomy chart for each structure so it is very well organized. I would recommend these courses so you can apply it to your daily programming with clients! Essential how certain movement patterns create dysfunction. Also an amazing discussion on fascia and how it plays a major part in movement. It will be an invaluable reference as i diagnose my clients movement patterns. (Verified review from ACE)

It’s very good to know how muscles work eccentrically in addition to their traditionally taught concentric functions. Justin Price does a very good job of explaining the function of muscles and how one can explain this function to her clients. (Verified review from ACE)

I would love to take this course over and over as I feel each and every time there would be more gain, more a-ha moments.

This course gives practitioners a dynamic perspective on human movement that traditional anatomy doesn’t capture. When helping clients to continue a fitness or lifestyle program for long-term functionality and comfort, it’s important to consider the many forces at play on each body, and to employ information about eccentric and slowing forces as much those we know from traditional anatomy. As a movement and massage therapist, I found this course helped me to make better sense of what’s going on with a client. I would wish for a specific section on following the chain regarding issues related to more than the “most common issues,” but the course teaches you how to do that on your own, which is the essential piece. A valuable course and should be a part of any exercise/fitness certification! (Verified review from ACE)
