About The Fundamentals of Movement Analysis

The Fundamentals of Movement Analysis provides fitness, exercise and health professionals with a step-by-step method for analyzing the most commonly impaired movements that can cause pain, functional limitations, and impede performance. Master The BioMechanics Method process for analyzing the entire kinetic chainโ€”from the feet to the headโ€”and learn to observe movement, identify impairments, detect compensations, and record and interpret findings for precise programming.

  • Explain how and when to introduce the movement analysis process into a clientโ€™s program
  • Apply various techniques (i.e. verbal, visual and hands-on) for analyzing commonly impaired movements in key areas of the body
  • Implement a step-by-step process for conducting a complete movement analysis on a client’s feet, ankles, knees, hips, spine and shoulders, neck and head
  • Compare and contrast analysis results through the use of observation, client feedback, and evaluation of compensatory movements
  • Document a client’s movement analysis results in order to identify significant impairments that could be addressed through appropriate corrective exercise programming
  • Explain how musculoskeletal imbalances are related to movement impairments
  • Explain how movement impairments in one area of the body can disrupt movement in other areas.

The Fundamentals of Movement Analysis is Module 1 of The BioMechanics Method Advanced Corrective Exercise Specialist Certification course. It is available for purchase as a standalone course to enable students to learn about movement impairments and analyses while also providing an affordable option for those interested in progressing from the Corrective Exercise Specialist credential (TBMM-CES) to earning the Advanced Corrective Exercise Specialist credential (TBMM-AdCES).

The remainder of the TBMM-AdCES course components includes:

  • Advanced Corrective Exercise Program Design
  • Advanced Corrective Exercise Practical Application

The BioMechanics Method Advanced Corrective Exercise Specialist course is a step-by-step learning program. It is highly recommended that the course modules be completed in order to optimize the learning experience.

IMPORTANT: You must complete The BioMechanics Method Corrective Exercise Specialist course (TBMM-CES) AND all all three modular courses of The BioMechanics Method Advanced Corrective Exercise Specialist program (TBMM-AdCES) to receive your Advanced Corrective Exercise Specialist credential from The BioMechanics Method (TBMM-AdCES).

  • Eligible for continuing education credit with major health and fitness organizations (ACE 2.0 + meets ethics requirement, ACSM 20.0, NETA 20.0, ISSA 20.0, CSEP 15.0, BOC 10.0 Cat A, VBOPT 10.0 Type 1, REPS New Zealand 14.0; NESTA, NFPT, WITS, YMCA, NASM, and other certifying organizations upon petition.
